Matcha is delicious on its own, whisked with a matcha whisk (chasen), but also suitable for a creamy matcha latte with plant-based milk. The fine texture provides an intense green colour and an authentic Japanese tea experience. Hojicha is softer and less bitter, making it ideal for lattes and recipes.

Preparation: whisk the matcha with hot water until smooth and lightly frothy.

Recipe: hojicha latte with pumpkin and maple syrup

Fancy a warm, creamy autumn latte? Choose the Organic Hojicha and make this vegan latte with plant-based milk, pumpkin puree, maple syrup, and a touch of cinnamon. Ready in just a few minutes.

Ingredients (1 glass)

  • 3 g organic hojicha powder
  • 200 ml plant-based milk (oat, soy, or almond)
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin puree
  • 1-2 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon

Preparation

  1. Mix the pumpkin puree with the maple syrup and the cinnamon in a glass until a smooth, creamy base is formed.
  2. Froth the plant-based milk and pour it over the pumpkin mix.

  4. Slowly pour the hojicha into the glass, creating beautiful layers. Taste and add extra maple syrup if desired.
