Loose-leaf rooibos tea – mild, nutty and caffeine-free

A soft, nutty rooibos tea from South Africa with a warm, round flavour. Naturally caffeine-free and gluten-free, making it a tea for any time of the day and for the whole family. Ideal as an evening tea, as a cosy cup with dessert, or as a mild tea for those who experience sensitive times. A true classic in our tea house in Berlaar. You can taste it in the tea house or take it home from the shop or webshop.

Preparation method:

• Water temperature: 95-100°C
• Steeping: 5-8 minutes
• Dosage: 1-2 teaspoons per cup or 12-15 grams per litre

Store: In an airtight tea tin in a dry, dark place.

Rooibos is naturally caffeine-free and contains low tannins, making it mild and soft in flavour. Delicious with a splash of milk, a slice of orange, or a spoonful of honey.

Recipe: rooibos chai latte (4 cups)

• 4 teaspoons of rooibos
• 400 ml water
• 1 cinnamon stick, 3 cardamom pods (lightly crushed), 3 cloves, a slice of fresh ginger
• 300 ml milk or plant-based drink
• 1-2 teaspoons of honey or maple syrup

Let the water, rooibos, and spices simmer gently for 8-10 minutes. Add the milk and heat again, without boiling. Strain, sweeten to taste, and serve with a pinch of cinnamon.
Also nice as rooibos iced tea: let the tea cool and serve with ice and a slice of orange.
