Organic Bombay Chai Tea – Spicy Black Tea with Spices

Bombay Chai is an aromatic and spicy loose black tea with spices, inspired by traditional Indian Masala Chai. The strong black tea base is combined with warming herbs and spices for a full, fragrant and slightly spicy flavour.

This Bombay Chai is delicious as regular chai tea, but is also excellent for making a creamy chai latte. Due to the robust black tea base, the tea and spices also hold up well when you add hot milk or plant-based milk.

Bombay Chai as regular tea

Use about 1 teaspoon per cup. Pour over with hot water and let steep according to the brewing instructions. This will give you a warming, spicy black tea.

Making chai latte yourself

With the same Bombay Chai, you can easily make a delicious chai latte.

For 1 large chai latte:

  • 2 teaspoons Bombay Chai
  • 100 ml hot water
  • 150 ml milk or plant-based milk
  • optional honey, sugar or maple syrup

Preparation:

  1. Put 2 teaspoons of Bombay Chai in a tea strainer.
  2. Pour over with 100 ml hot water.
  3. Let steep for about 5 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, heat the milk and optionally froth it.
  5. Strain the strong chai and add the warm milk.
  6. Sweeten to taste.

    7. Tip: For an extra strong chai latte, you can use a bit more tea or add slightly less milk.

    A delicious chai tea for home, but also ideal for lovers of homemade chai latte.
