Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis), also known as balm or lemon herb, is a beloved garden herb. The leaves smell and taste of fresh lemon, but without the acidity. As loose herbal tea, you get a light, fresh cup with a slightly sweet aftertaste. Delightful at any time of the day.

How to brew lemon balm tea

Amount: 1 heaped teaspoon (approx. 2 g) per cup of 250 ml
Water: fresh, boiling water (100 °C)
Brewing time: 5 to 7 minutes, let steep covered
Strain: remove the leaves from the cup or tea filter

Iced tea from lemon balm: let a stronger cup (2 teaspoons per cup) cool down, add ice cubes and optionally a slice of lemon or fresh mint.
